Screensavers

Places from the worlds, drawn live in signal. No file, no loop. Each one is written on the spot, so it never plays the same way twice. Open one, go full screen, and let it run.

LA UNICA // 01The Shore
The white moon laid down on the water. Slow swell, one leaning tree, the tide breathing.

SOL // 02Above Earth
Just over the curve. The sun breaks the edge, the air catches it, the night side keeps its lights.

SOL // 03Lantern Night
From the seaport. The lights go up, the river carries them back, the bridge keeps still.

Generative ambient art

There is no image behind any of these. The page draws the picture on the spot, one glyph per cell, from a small set of rules. The light goes down first as plain gradients. The still things, rocks, towers, a moon, are built once. Only the part that lives, the water, the clouds, the lanterns, is redrawn each frame. A soft bloom sits on top so the bright cells glow into each other.

The method is old. People have drawn with characters since the terminal days, and plenty still do. The scenes are ours.

Notes for a screen that stays on: full screen hides the bar · the scene pauses in a background tab · reduced motion shows one still frame · nothing is downloaded, the page is the picture
